Aerial Roots is the culmination of a collaboration between Nicky Arscott & Bengali poet Subhro Bandopadhyay as part of a project supported by Literature Across Frontiers, Wales Arts International and British Council Wales, celebrating 70 years of Indian independence.

 

After initial residential exchanges in Aberystwyth and Delhi, the pair toured their book at Kolkata Lit Meet and Jaipur Bookmark in January 2018. This included panel discussions, readings and workshops.

The project explores themes of colonialism and independence, personal and collective responsibility, and friendship.
